Have a chat/whisper bot? Let us know!

Hey, @xangold just curious if bot statuses are still being updated through this form. I haven’t seen a reply on this thread for awhile, but it’s the only method I’ve seen for registering bots. Let me know either way, please.

Also in reply to Fessways:

I can confirm that although the process can take “a long time”, this method (the form) is still valid, and at Twitch’s discretion, your bot will be marked as either “known” or “verified”.

I submitted the correct information on 9th March, and have finally had my bot account marked as “known” (thanks Twitch devs); the actual change in status could have happened any time in the last few days (since I last checked).

Be sure to provide the bot account’s email address, not your own (I derped first try).
Neither my nor my bot account have received any email, PM, DM or notification of the status.
Ensure that you’ve enabled Two-Factor Auth.

I assume the devs are currently too busy trying to ready the new API in advance of the old API’s deprecation to swing by here to talk to us FeelsBadMan

Please see my reply to mrq_quentin above

Ok thank you guy

Got it approved as “known” for like… 3-4 days. Must be lucky :stuck_out_tongue:

They most likely do bulk verifications (what looks like) once a month, so yeah - kinda lucky

Hey guys!

Just wanted some assistance. I’m trying to re-code EggBot_V1 in mIRC, and wanted to have the command list and certain commands on the bot whispered to users.
I’m able to whisper people, when logged into the account on chrome on twitch.tv, and receive and send whispers, however, trying to do this through the mIRC client is giving me:

[02:33] tmi.twitch.tv USERSTATE #eggfriedcheese

But the whispers aren’t going through at all. I’ve tried all different orientations of the command to try and get it to send, however, everything so far hasn’t worked.

I have sent the form to have the bot registered today, so I’m showing false on both known and verified, but I would have thought this doesn’t stop the bot whispering through the client?

Anybody have any suggestions.

Okay, I’m an idiot… I put in the code:

.msg # .w $nick Message

And that worked… lol.

However, how many PM’s can be sent, as the command I have, reads a .ini file, that could have a lot of commands in, so would possibly spam in a whisper.

Check this out.

@xangold Still a thing? If so, how long does it usually take to get flagged as known_bot, or better, verified_bot?
Filled out the form 5-7 days ago

I’m developing a chrome extension that sends a message every a specific period of time
by changing value into the text area but clicking on “Chat” button does not send the message into the chat unless i manually add at least one character of my own inside text area. is that because the chrome extension I am developing not flagged as known bot or verified bot?
I’m new to twitch TV community so titles like “verified_bot” , “white_list” and “known_bot” are new to me and I have no enough knowledge about them

Doubt that’s the case here. Known/verified bot status is about accounts. They increase the messaging limits mainly. This sounds like a client side javascript thing where the chat button might be blocked as long as there is no manual input? Try digging through that code!

Answered it here Chrome extension that sends a message every a specific period of time

Since @matchbook necro’ed two irrelevant threads and started their own thread…

Hi, someone mentioned that I need to register my chat bot and a google search led me here, but the link to the application says:

You need permission
This form can only be viewed by users in the owner’s organization

Do chatbots no longer require registration?

@cherryrae Xangold is already aware of this (Thanks to someone pointing it out after I linked this). Just gotta wait for him to fix whatever got messed up.

I am also looking to have my chat bot white-listed. I look forward to having access to this form or any information on other means of registering the bot. Thank you!

Yea the link isn’t working. Just hoping to register.

I too looking to register our bot.

Same here.

My bot just got “muted” tonight from being able to send whispers. I’m assuming it sent too many whispers in a 30 second window. Getting whitelisted to circumvent this would be huge! Any discussion on whether the form to get whitelisted will be reopened from its restricted permissions status?
