Inconsistent creator_id behavior when editing old/new clips

I was planning to use Twitch API to build a website that displays all clips that I’ve created, and I noticed one weird inconsistency about how clip edits on other people’s clips are being handled on the website as a channel editor.

When I edited someone’s newer clip (<1 month from creation), the clip retained its original clip creator name. However when i tried editing an old clip (2 years old in my case but from what i understand it’s the same for any clip older than one month?), it replaced the clip’s author name with mine.

It’s definitely not how i want it to work since i was just fixing mobile layout and now it misattributes to me clips that are not mine and means that i can’t reliably detect which clips are really mine and which are not when doing edits, this does not look like intended behavior.

Can anything be done about this?

I’d specualte that is becuase it’s made a new clip to replace the old one due to the edit so it’s a different clip.

However this is outside the realm of third party development, I don’t believe it’s a bug (so not TwitchSupport) but perhaps a Feature request so uservoice → https://twitch.uservoice.com/
