I lost the ability to send whispers again. I am able to receive them.

I’m able to send and receive whispers in both directions with two accounts. Are you sending whispers in the web client, via the API, or over IRC?

And what API would that be?? Inquiring minds would like to know. ha ha

I am very sorry, I found my issue.

Once again my app is broken :D. Get used to fix it few times per a year but this isnt funny. I can join a channel, see users, but cant send and receive messages. What was changed/ how to fix it?

BarryCarlyon users have claims bitching about twitch. Do something good once, not all the the time made changes which brokes everything. Right now its not possible to do something that will works for longer time, using yours API and docs

and last thing. In the past, many users from Korea couldnt connect to irc chat. For rest the world no problems. Please fix this.

I don’t work for Twitch, but just bitching in a thread where everyone else is trying to help is not helping.

I am sending /w to another nick via web…
that ā€œanotherā€ nick (bot) is running via IRC with Port 6667.

I can’t able to get /w back from that ā€œanotherā€ nick (bot).

that ā€œanotherā€ nick (bot) has submitted for whitelist.

And again on the AWS Server…
Please move back to the old servers

All channels are on AWS now.

irc.twitch.tv and irc.chat.twitch.tv both point to the new servers now so there shouldn’t be any problems.

Covering some questions here:

  • I’m looking into the whispers over IRC issue reported here. I’ll report back once I confirm and/or fix it
  • All channels are now in AWS - there’s no going back! If you’re having issues on PS4, please restart your PS4. It appears to be caching the old result for irc.twitch.tv, and users have reported that restarting the system gets things working again
  • I’m also looking into a report of the ignore feature misbehaving. I’ll also report back on this one

@mca64 can you clarify your question? I’m happy to help but I’m not completely sure which problem you’re running into.

Edit: @mca64 If you’re in Korea now, this would help me troubleshoot your chat connection issues:
Attempt to connect (with netcat or telnet, for example) to irc.chat.twitch.tv:80, irc.chat.twitch.tv:6667, and irc-ws.chat.twitch.tv:80. Your ISP may be doing one of several things, including disallowing non-HTTP traffic (like IRC) over port 80, or disallowing connections to port 6667 in general.

@will dont know where is a problem. You tell me. I made some stuff for StarCraft :Brood War and there is native, in game twitch chat. All worked until now… What was changed recently that users, after log on into irc.twitch.tv can only see users list? Im not from Korea, cant help.

Update on the /ignore command issues: we’ve identified a problem in the JS client and have a fix coming shortly.

Update on whispers from IRC: If you’re connected to group chat (group.tmi.twitch.tv:6667), you should be good to go. If you’d like to receive whispers on IRC, you may need to send ā€œCAP REQ :twitch.tv/commandsā€.

I’ve seen it recommended elsewhere to query http://tmi.twitch.tv/servers?cluster=group to get a group server for the purposes of whispers.

Should we be using this method or just connecting to group.tmi.twitch.tv:6667 directly?

I’d love to hear the Twitch-recommended approach.

They’re essentially identical. The group.tmi.twitch.tv DNS record resolves to those same IP addresses. The API gives you the port numbers as well, so that’s convenient. Either way works!

What happened to the twitchnotify messages that used to say ā€˜x people resubbed while you were away’?

Those used to show up when partners go live all the time but seem to only show up very rarely now? In the channels I follow closely I used to see them pretty much every stream, now I’ve seen like 4 total in the last two weeks on the new servers.

It might just be a weird coincidence but usually they would be at the start of nearly every stream, so only 4 in like 2 weeks appears too low.

@will connection is to 192.16.64.144 not to irc.twitch.tv Is there a chance that 192.16.64.144 will be workin again or something that will make not possible to log on on a 192.16.64.144?
