Hello,

I run Streamnodo (streamnodo com), a set of stream overlays for Twitch streamers (chat counters, goals, queues, wheel, auction, race, slot machine and boss fight). Streamers sign in with Twitch and the app reads their channel’s EventSub events (redemptions, chat, bits, subs).

Some tools keep rankings across a streamer’s streams. For each viewer who interacted with that streamer’s channel, the app stores the Twitch user ID, the display name and a few counters (for example wins, spins, damage dealt) for up to 180 days after the viewer’s last appearance, capped at 500 viewers per ranking. The data is stored per streamer room, is used only to show that streamer’s own overlay, and is never shared with third parties or used for advertising. It is not sold or exposed through any API.

How it is deleted: the streamer can delete a single viewer or the whole room from the dashboard; viewers can ask me by email and I delete them from all rooms; data older than 180 days is pruned automatically; if the streamer revokes the app’s access, the room is deleted after 7 days.

Schedule C of the Developer Services Agreement says Program Materials should not be stored for more than 24 hours without written authorization. My question: does this rule apply to a viewer’s user ID, display name and counters kept for these per-streamer rankings?

1. If it does not apply, is there anything I should do or document?
2. If it applies, can Twitch authorize this storage in writing (up to 180 days, or a different period you accept)?
3. If it cannot be authorized, what is the longest retention you allow for this kind of data?

Thank you,
German

I went to go look up schedule c to reference it but I cannot find it on the current Twitch Developer Services Agreement.

So which agreement are you referencing?

I suspect you have followed something outdated/been given bad advice from another party here?

And, in my opinion, just section `VI. Data Policy` applies to your query which doesn’t make reference to time limits?

Failing that since this pertains to legal advice, you may want to consult a legal professional.

And this has not been legal advice as I am not a lawyer.
