Transferring app name between two accounts

For security reasons I needed to get a Twitch Application transferred over to a different account. From what I read online this is not possible, so we opted to create a new application and just transfer the name of the application (changed the name of the old app and use that name in the new app), but this is not working. We continue to see the client name already exists error when trying to take over the app name in the new application despite the old application no longer using the required name.

Is there something else we need to do in order to make this happen?

App names persist for a period of time even through app deletion or name changes. You’ll need to use another name for now and try again later when the name might be freed up.
