When is AV1 allowed for all streamers within obs studio main release? It’s been so long since the beta and I am a really smal streamer. My streams only work when playing stardew valley due to the low movement on screen. AV1 will change the game for everyone please
I’m not sure which ‘beta’ you’re referring to, as if you are talking about the Twitch Enhanced Broadcasting beta, that’s currently part of the OBS Studio beta branch, that doesn’t include AV1 support.
TEB is for streaming multiple encodes at different resolutions/bitrates simultaneously, rather than using transcodes on Twitch’s side. There have been a select few streamers that have access to stream with TEB using HEVC at bitrates beyond is usually supported, but they are very few, and the vast majority wont have access to HEVC and those bitrates for a while, and AV1 is even further off.
As for when the OBS Studio Beta will release a new stable version that includes TEB? I don’t know, ask them, this isn’t OBS Studio support.
AV1’s issue is the lack of hardward decoders out in the field.
Let alone the number of phones that can’t
People are not even testing AV1 to my knowledge at this time. (only the OBS dev is)
I just would like av1 so that I can stream in av1 receiving devices can support av1. If they don’t then my gpu has to do a conversion cool. I want av1 streaming
AV1 streaming is still a long ways off, and not currently the main focus. I’d recommend keeping up to date with OBS’s open beta for TEB and monitoring that, as they may eventually include support for AV1.
