So Twitch has a way to add Whitelisted Channels but not blacklist any channels from what I can tell? We just started our drop campaign today and bots have come out of the wood works?
Not, it is not possible to deny list a channel from being able to take part in a Drops campaign that’s open to the public.
If you believe the channel is violating Twitch’s ToS and/or Community Guidelines with how they’re using your Drops Campaign I would recommend sending in a User Report.
It’s frustrating that genuine players and developers have to go through extra steps because bots stream old game footage to exploit drop campaigns. Instead of addressing the bots directly, the burden falls on us and the players.
Adding a blacklist option on Twitch, like the whitelist feature, would be a practical quality-of-life update. It would let us block problem accounts upfront and make things easier for legitimate streamers and viewers.
A blacklist would add more overhead on the developers though, as it would be you who has to maintain the list, and if a bot isn’t eligible for Drops it’ll just use a different account as there are thousands of them, and you’ll just be investing a significant amount of time playing whack-a-mole trying to prevent these accounts from using your Drops Campaign.
As for the players, the ones that will stream your game will still stream your game regardless of what some other bots may or may not be doing. The viewers are going to watch whoever they can to get Drops regardless. Usually Viewers would prefer streamers they know and are actively engaged in the content but if they aren’t live they’ll go elsewhere and yes this does mean bot channels.
I agree that something has to be done, but a blacklist is not a good way to achieve what you’re after.
