Hi! A friend of mine has all of his socials as one username, but his twitch had to be different due to the name being taken. This account has been inactive (to my knowledge) and has 0 followers or information on it. Is there a way to apply for the name if the account was “abandoned”?

tl;dr, it could be years, potentially never, for a username to be recycled and free for others to use, and that’s even if it’s inactive as just because it has 0 followers or information that has no impact whatsoever on if the account is active or not. It’s a case of first come first served and if someone doesn’t get a username they want then they’ll likely have to remain with an alternative.
