Changing allow list without having to release a new version

Hey,
I am just wondering if it is at all possible to manage your extension’s allowlist without releasing a new version.

I wasn’t able to do it so I’m either missing something, or it can’t be done.

I’ll give you a use case:

We are making an extension which is a companion extension to an app we created… our app is currently in a super early closed test phase and we are slowly adding users (who applied for access) to it (like 1 - 2 per day).

Our current options are:

  1. keep the allowlist on and send our extension for review every time you want to add a person to the list.

  2. release the extension to everyone.

Both options are not optimal for obvious reasons and I think it would be great to be able to dynamically add people to the allow list after a version is released.

Would love to know what other’s think about this subject.

Thanks and have a wonderful weekend!

No as the extension is reviewed based on the contents of the allowlist.

I’d go two and use my EBS to control access.

I have a number of released extensions that do 2 with EBS Access Control

Hey Barry!

We went with 2… its still not ideal as it comes up in the discovery tab for people… and they can’t use it…

I don’t understand what role the allowlist plays in the review process, but I’ll accept it.

As always, thank you for the super quick reply!
