So I was typing many messages fast in a Twitch chat and soon the message, “Sorry, we were unable to connect to chat. Reconnecting in 2 seconds.” starting appearing with each message. However, I’m unsure if I kept chatting and that started later. So at first I just assumed I was global banned, but when I refreshed I was logged into a completely different account that I have never seen before. It was called something generic like “justinfan”. Then I closed out the window and when I went back to Twitch I was in my account again. Then, I quickly changed my password.
justinfan is the default non logged in user account for twitch web, it’s basically a hidden account for read only. If you were spamming chat, you probably got global banned for two hours. Doesn’t sound like you were hacked.
