Does Video Overlay Extension work on mobile browser and twitch mobile apps the same way they do on Desktop Browser, have seen few old threads saying overlay extensions looks like panel extensions on mobile screens instead of an overlay, but these threads are 2-3 years old, couldn`t find accurate info if this has been changed since then
My requirement they should work on mobile and console the same way they do on desktop browsers
Thanks in Advance
This is still the case
For various reasons (including but not limited to casting a stream from a mobile device to say a chrome cast) and/or deferring to native device playing. thats before we consider any interative elements need to be interactable and at that sizing your “fat finger” buttons would cover the whole stream, as apposed to zoomed way small to match the stream sizing (see 4.10 - Extensions Guidelines & Policies | Twitch Developers ) this leads to a potentially bad interaction for viewers so a panel fits better in my opinon, sure information onyl extensions lose out here, but then to fit on a stream on a mobile device the font’s gonna be tiny… so again a panel fits better
Extensions on mobile present “as a panel”
I don’t think sony/M$ will let stuff work in their walled garden like that, since certification is a thing on console… So thats a pipedream
