Exited Host Mode

Something fired a unhost, which pubsub didn’t catch and Twitch Chat didn’t say who did it.

CohhKittenBot has a schedule that detects when itemJP goes live and setups the host when that occurs.

This week, (shown above) it fired the host, then SOMETHING fired a unhost…
So then I fired it up again manually
Result: Host mode and 1 host commands remaining this half hour.

Last week, if fired up the host which didn’t stick for all users.
So I fired up the host again manually (within 5 minutes)
Result: Host mode and 2 host commands remaining this half hour.

Something is awry with host mode…

So the Exit got dinged over IRC.

IRC Raw:

{"tags":{"msg_id":"host_on"},SNIP,"args":["#cohhcarnage","Now hosting itmeJP."]}
{"tags":{"msg_id":"host_off"},SNIP,"args":["#cohhcarnage","Exited host mode."]}
{"tags":{"msg_id":"host_on"},SNIP,"args":["#cohhcarnage","Now hosting itmeJP."]}

Still no idea why/where the error/first host exit is coming from though.

Update (new reply as formatting went to hell editing):

Auto Unhost-ing, was DAMN slow today

Triggered a:

[1495066926,"Thu, 18 May 2017 00:22:06 +0000","","- 500000"]

But did not trigger the 'host_off" tag/notice, But did trigger a “host_target_went_offline” (which I imagine is correct anyway)

rages

Looking into CohhKittenBot, it look’s like there may be a bug causing the bot to host and un-host without permission to do so. The only way i can see this not being an issue to you is temporarily using a different bot until the issue is fixed by the creators of the bot.

Hope that helped in some way.

Barry is the creator of that bot.

I am the creator of the bot as @3ventic and can confirm that cohhkittenbot is NOT sending the unhost command.

Having cross checked exactly what the bot is doing, the pubsub feed and RAW IRC logs

Can confirm it’s NOT me running unhost.

As Twitch “refunds” the x host commands remaining this half hour token…

Seems like because I issue a host LITERALLY within 10 seconds of $target going live Twitch is just bouncing the host as the video isn’t quite up yet or something…

Do you mean you host a channel which has literally went live 10 seconds prior to hosting?

If so, the issue might be that certain servers (such as further away servers) haven’t received the video feed and therefor it cannot send the host as not all servers have the video feed to host? This is all i can think of if the bot isn’t unhosting via command. I hope this helped in some way :slight_smile:

Thats a problem then.

I can prehost a stream Hours before they go live without issue, (stays in host until stream goes live and ends again), so why would the problem occur around going live with a blank/unclear unhost.

Perhaps you can go look at the Twitch logs of the events in question at the time stamps stated, rather than thoerising?

How else would a bot unhost? The only way to host/unhost a channel is via a chat command, except in the case of “channel has gone offline exiting host mode” which is not occuring in this case. It’s just flat dumping the host and returning the “host credit” to spend.

If you are Twitch staff it’s not helping theorising, I’ve provided sufficient information including timestamps for you to go and LOOK at whats going on?
