I have Chat bot for my Twitch Streams.
Users can play with minigames.
Timers for show information from my stream
etc…

But I would like to make excessive information, for example, to send a faulty parameter in whisper. However, at this point, there is no whisper to anybody but only those who are on the list of friends.
I filled out the “Twitch Bot Application” 8 weeks ago (ID 165487195). I know the approval has to be done manually, but since it’s been such a long time, I just wanted to make sure my application wasn’t skipped accidentally.
Or is the form not being used anymore? (It says “at least June 2017”.) How can we apply for the “known bot status” if it’s been disabled?
I have submitted 2 bots I am working on: @larsenbot and @teambattlebot . Hope they can get approved, because I am experiencing issues with sending whispers to most of the viewers in chat.
Potentially it’s because the receiver typed something in the channel chat and not in a direct whisper to the bot? Does that change when the bot gets approved? Sending command was correct as far as I can see:
<PRIVMSG #larsen :/w monx_br HeyGuys This is a test
Edit: Turns out it doesnt matter if the bot get’s ‘known’. Whispers still do not arrive Can anyone tell me what the requirements are for a whisper to be accepted by the twitch server? Do whispers need to be sent from the same channel as the user you are sending the whisper to (so #monx_br for monx_br for example)? It seems to be something similar as described here: IRC connections unable to send whispers?
None of the instructions nor links to instructions on how to obtain your bot’s ID are working. @xangold I’d suggest putting valid instructions in the original post if you want us to be able to find our ID’s.
TY
The links posted to obtain the ID are working perfectly fine for me, and the form itself has instructions on how to obtain the ID with a working example link.
SOOOOO… I’m getting this notification on my Streamlabs/Ankhbot thing that I need to do this bot application… and I got my bot ID and stuff… but what am I supposed to put in the “WHAT DOES YOUR BOT DO” area!? Because I used ankhbot… it’s another twitch account set as my bot… but I tried to type there… and NOTHING happened… the application didn’t go through… it just marked that area in red…
for the email… do I need to use the email for my stream channel… or my bot channel email?
I updated my Ankhbot/Streamlabs bot… and this is the first time being told I need to fill out the application… sooooooo… HEEEEELP! <3 <3 <3
Had the same Problem… you need to write a lot more thank you would think…
The following worked for me:
“Songrequest and Moderation for Twitch Chat and Discord Whispers - basically all the cool Ankhbot / Stramlabs Chatbot stuff.”
I did applied for the form, and i’m waiting til my bot ‘GodzamyJR’ become accepted, because I want the loyalty points messages and another messages to be sent by whisper instead of feeding my stream chat with the messages hope you guys add my bot there!
Then just copy paste this (If your using Streamlabs Chatbot, otherwise just keep typing until you pass the character count minimum.) for “What does your bot do?” : Streamlabs Chatbot functionality, so anything that I can do within the app. Also can I emphasize just how wonky and confusing this whole process is? I love you guys. Please make this easier.
Am I missing something? The form the form itself tells you how to get ID, and even provides a client id to access the API even simpler:
Click the link and you get: {"display_name":"foobar","_id":16231,"name":"foobar","type":"user","bio":null,"created_at":"2007-05-22T10:40:29Z","updated_at":"2018-01-16T18:07:16Z","logo":"https://static-cdn.jtvnw.net/user-default-pictures/4cbf10f1-bb9f-4f57-90e1-15bf06cfe6f5-profile_image-300x300.jpg","_links":{"self":"https://api.twitch.tv/kraken/users/foobar"}}
See where it says _id? That’s the id. All you need to do is replace foobar in the link with your bots username.
It was confusing for me. I saw a string of different things and wasn’t sure what I was looking at or what to do with it. As others said, it looks like a broken link to the untrained eye. Keep in mind, I did preface this with “maybe cause I’m derpy” but for the average user I’m sure it will be easier when it’s just a checkbox in Twitch Settings. Glad devs are getting a jump on the issue though.
