Helix/videos "period" parameter ignored

So first off i know that this topic was posted a bunch of times, oldest time Ive seen dating back to 2019. When doing this request for example:

https://api.twitch.tv/helix/videos?user_id=22484632&period=week

it will return return all videos dating back to “2025-03-01T15:23:06Z”, so obviously ignoring the period parameter.

As this is an issue brought up for almost 6 years now without any changes, wouldnt it be wise to at least remove it from the documentation? That would prevent this confusion for future users at least.

The Issues repo is the appropriate place to report bugs with the API, and this already has an issue raised Get videos endpoint params · Issue #435 · twitchdev/issues · GitHub

Creating new threads for a known issue isn’t helpful, if you have more information to add you can add it there.

My point is more that a feature that is knowingly broken for half a decade and seemingly wont be fixed any time soon should maybe not be in the documentation.

Then add your suggestion of changing the documentation to that issue.
