Ok, first disclaimer, I’m new with this stuff, so I might overlook basic things. According to the documentation I should be getting USERSTATEs of people when they join my channel. But I’m not. I only get the USERSTATEs when they send a message. I have all 3 CAPs.
You will not get USERSTATE for other people. Only for yourself.
Oh, ok. Can I request a USERSTATE of people in my channel at any given time or do I only get them when they talk?
Not via chat, but there’s a currently undocumented endpoint https://api.twitch.tv/kraken/users/:userid/chat/channels/:channelid that contains most of the information.
