Question about commerce

Can I charge a viewer money in an extension and have the proceeds go to the broadcaster (for example, a donate button)? I read the documentation but found the Commerce section a little ambiguous.

Extensions may not provide differentiated experiences to viewers in exchange for compensation from viewers, except with regard to the use of Twitch/Amazon commerce instruments.

Extensions may not transact or encourage the transacting of monetary exchange in relation to any non-Twitch/Amazon commerce instruments.

Thanks!

PayPal or any other payment service outside of Twitch/Amazon are not allowed to be part of an extension. In addition, your extension cannot suggest or encourage people to go to affiliated sites like Green Man Gaming, ChronoGG, Steam, etc to buy something and help support you.

And since Twitch already has integrated payments via Bits/Cheers and Subs, they have that covered and dont need it in an extension

No

Extensions may not transact or encourage the transacting of monetary exchange in relation to any non-Twitch/Amazon commerce instruments.

Basically you can charge streamers access to your Extension and/or features (in the future) but there won’t be a way to make/allow users to spend money in your extension. Since anything you would build is a competing product to Subscriptions or Cheering.

What you can do is say “hey you should buy bits”

So basically you can’t use an extension to suggest people go to paypal/etc to Tip/Donate either too

Of course this is my interpretation of what the guidelines say, and I stand to be corrected
