I’m glad Twitch added Cast support to the Twitch application. But the chat delay when casting is so much, that I never open up chat when I’m watching because everything is so delayed. Last time I counted, the delay was 64 seconds, compared to the website delay of 20 seconds. Why is the delay so much?
This is because the official Twitch players buffer videos creatively to lower the delay. The Chromecast, however, isn’t configurable in this regard. I’d be surprised if this will ever be addressed, given this limitation.
