Box art correct on igdb, but dead image on dev portal

I think the game is linked correctly, because the play analytics are accurate from before we created our twitch dev account.

how can we know if our game is in the correct linking / ownership state?

That’s normal for the organization console, it doesn’t show box art in most places just shows the default placeholder image even if box art is properly assigned.
