[FEATURE] Update Redemption Status shouldn't be limited to bot redemption

Hello,

After implementing in my bot the Update Redemption Status endpoint to allow to validate or refund a redemption, I found out about the limit of only being able to update redemption created by my bot. As this endpoint can allow to refund a redemption without having to open a browser and moderators as the power of doing the exact same thing I’d find more logical that the enpoint doesn’t have this limit allowing automated tool to perform a validation or a refund during the stream even more when you don’t have moderator and don’t want to pause your stream to open twitch go to the moderator view and refund the redemption (or validate it).
Is it possible for this limitation to be removed ?

The feature request already exist since March 2023 : https://twitch.uservoice.com/forums/310213-developers/suggestions/46466290-allow-streamer-access-token-to-modify-redemption-s Is it possible to have a look at it ? It’s kinda painful for small streamers to not be able to easily mange redemption without having to open twitch (browser can be really heavy and impact stream performance) and as most are not devs or developping things for Twitch they won’t go request this feature

From the looks of it there’s almost no interest in it, not a single person other than the OP of that UserVoice has added their use case or given info on what sort of impact such a change would have, only 1 other person has voted for it (2 votes at the time of writing this).

Dev time is a finite resource and it’s usually invested into features that would impact the most users/developers for the features that would add value to the platform, so if a feature request has essentially no support it’s not particularly likely to get adopted. And even if it did have lots of support, not all feature requests get adopted as some things that may not be what Twitch wants for the API.

This feature request even has opposition, as there are developers that specifically don’t want other apps created by 3rd parties being able to manipulate redemptions from their app in any way, and just because something may or may not be possible through the Web UI doesn’t determine what is the intended usage of the 3rd party API.

Understandable, thanks for the update (for information, I’m the second vote, lol), I’ll let you close this ticket and will find a way to delete and create all my redemption through my bot :+1:

One more now :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: 'Cause yeah I can understand about third party redemption not being editable from another app, but Twitch redemption should be and we should be able to validate or refund any redemption the same way a moderator could

or if an app makes a redeem it can “allow” others to manage the queue perhaps. (random thought off the top of my head)
