Stream language = broadcasters interface language? Why?

I have already seen two topics, yet still no response from any of the developers. The Kraken and Helix API both work the same way while it still makes no sense.

Language filter does not filter by stream language

It seems the language param documented for https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/v5/reference/streams/#get-live-streams does not actually filter by broadcast language but by “language”, which is the language a channel uses the site in. This is why the Twitch browse feature uses the broadcaster_language param, which does what is documented for language.

BUG: API returns wrong stream language

I’m trying to use twitch api (https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/api/reference#get-streams) to get current streams in my language (Polish). I was surprised that my stream is not on the list. I think I have changed the language of a stream in every place I’ve found it. On the channel page (bugged, does not save changes) and in the dashboard (this works). I can see my stream is listed in polish when I browse streams by language. But the API still shows me as English. See the picture (https://snag.gy/ZSP…

The docs of the new API:
language | string | Stream language. You can specify up to 100 languages.

But the thing is:
When you filter streams by language, the “language” is not the real language of the stream, but instead it takes the language of the broadcasters interface. What the hell? Just, why?
