What are we ALLOWED to do with bits?

I’m looking to do cool stuff with bits, but i’m not sure what twitch will allow me to do…

I did read a page from twitch on how we are allowed to use bits, but it didn’t explain it in a way I can understand too well.

  1. Am I allowed to give fake currency for BITS given to the streamer?
  2. Am I allowed to give virtual items with that currency or directly from bits donated?

Both of what you describe is basically using fake currency to buy fake currency and items. Twitch wouldn’t approve of this

Please refer to the AUP → Twitch.tv - Bits Acceptable Use

Specifically point 17:

Soliciting goods, services or digital content (including displaying certain chat messages, playing a game, being “friends,” or starting a private conversation) in exchange for Bits, or exchanging Bits for goods or services or digital content;

And 18

Soliciting Bits for goods or services or digital content (including displaying certain chat messages, playing a game, being “friends,” or starting a private conversation), or exchanging goods or services or digital content for Bits;

I of course stand to be corrected here, but bits should not be used to purchase things, they are used to tip the broadcaster

I’m a little confused with all of this, Why would they provide access to so much information about messages along side of the bits event if you literally can’t use it for anything.

When they say, “Soliciting Bits for goods or services or digital content (including displaying certain chat messages…”
Am I allowed to have my bot say a message like, “X amount of bits! Give love and hype to USER”?

and technically do people not already spend bits towards the bitboss thing? how is that allowed? My mind is so confused with this ordeal.

Yes

No, viewers do not have a thing that they can do something else with. Viewers have no direct control over a bit boss, nor does it belong to them.

Like you suggest by giving them a fake currency or fake virtual item.
