mIRC keeps giving error: [10101] Host Disconnected

yes i know mIRC is old but its a great starting tool for beginner IRC bot makers.

this keeps coming up as i’m trying to connect it to my channel dustybotmaker29. I’ve consulted twitchdevs’ irc bot example before discovering mIRC. when i started using it, it was rocky. but i managed to get it working… partially. any ideas?

here is some extra info via image. i should also say that the port was previously 6697.
