I seem to keep missing out on the QA review agent, when they try to review my extension. I have stated scheduled live times on the submitted information, but they seem to keep showing up outside of those times, after which they put my extension on “Pending Approval”.
15 minutes ago I was working on something related to my extension, for which I had OBS open, and I could see that they were testing the functionality of it, so of course I immediately hit the Live button to try and catch them, but with no luck.
Every time I receive the “Pending Approval” mail, I try to write back with my scheduled times, but I never hear anything back.
So the question is, how on earth do I make this happen as smoothly as possible for everyone involved, instead of these hard-working people wasting their time trying to review it while I’m not available?
I can’t offer any insight into arranging review times due to all the changes that have happened to the review process this year. What I can suggest though is what many Extension developers do and just use FFMPEG to stream a test pattern, or simple colour, to a test channel, as that can all be done from a single command and is incredibly low resource usage compared to OBS or other such streaming software, so can easily be left running for extended period of time.
Great suggestion, thanks so much! For some reason, I hadn’t even considered just leaving the stream running on its own, I figured they needed me to be available too for whatever reason.
I’ll probably have to use OBS, since the extension interacts with an overlay, but either way, your input was a huge help, and greatly appreciated!
Thanks for the input, that’s very valuable! I feel a bit stupid for not realizing these points myself, but hey - that’s what communities do best, help each other see hidden points.
Hi! We’re actually working on a better system for scheduling timed reviews. It should be live later this week at the earliest, or possibly next week if not. We’ll make an announcement on the TwitchDev Discord when its finalized, and a link to that scheduling system will be included in future communication during your Extension review.
