[BUG] Chat in clips is out of sync compared to VOD due to bad calculation of timestamps

I’ve been following a project for the past weeks and looks like they’ve found an issue with Clips:

when a Clip is created (on Twitch), it extracts a portion of the VOD for it, but also a portion of the chat. The problem is that the chat is way out of sync in the Clips, while in the VOD is “normal”.

Chat out of sync - issue with Twitch itself?

They kind of demonstrated that it’s a bug on Twitch’s side, where the timestamps where to cut the chat are calculated wrongly.

If somebody could help, or even better fix, that would be really awesome.

This is out of scope for the third party developers forum and should be passed on to first party via https://help.twitch.tv/

I didn’t answer initially as wrong place for the issue. And thus not something I/this forum can help with. As the issue isn’t “twitch third party products” it’s “first party” so that needs support to know not third party dev land

The other post is a spam bot that just recycled a post from somewhere and just cited this post in it’s post to hide it’s spam link…
